| Notes: | The Calne Flag is a community flag proclaiming the unique identity of this Wiltshire town. The blue fly represents the river Marden flowing through the town. The green hoist evokes the local countryside, with a white stripe symbolising its underlying chalk. Lastly a gold band links the two colours. This celebrates the discovery of oxygen by Dr Joseph Priestley in Doctor’s Pond in 1774. |
