A year of Golden Jubilee celebrations marked the Flag Institute’s 50th Birthday on St George’s Day, 23 April 2021.

Our Golden Jubilee programme started with our online 50th Birthday Party, continued with Heraldica Slovenica and Merchant Navy Day Specials (both online), included our FI Winter ’21 Conference in Manchester, and closed with our Spring ’22 Conference in London.
For the first time every event was online or hybrid, beaming speakers live to a global audience – from Manchester and London, but also from Chicago (Patrick O’Connor), Bristol (Luke Jerram), Lisbon (Brian Elliott), Australia (David Field), Zagreb (Željko Heimer), Ljubljana (Aleksander Hribovšek, Anže Hobič).
It was a year to remember! Here’s to the next half-century!
