Willenhall is set to have its very own community flag, after community group Willenhall Ay We and locally based shopping giant Poundland teamed up to launch a public competition.
The Flag Institute will register the winning flag, and budding artists and those with a sense of civic pride are encouraged to submit designs.
Seeing a recent display of the Black Country flag before Black Country Day on 14 July, inspired Willenhall Ay We.
Poundland jumped at the chance to sponsor the competition and pay for the manufacture of the winning design.
And the Flag Institute will register the winning design for free.
A town flag will act as a rallying point for the community.
It will raise the profile of Willenhall.
And it will also promote one of the many local heritages that form the patchwork of national identity.
Willenhall follows other recent local flag registrations, including the Black Country, Finchfield and Kingswinford.
After a public vote, the unveiling of the winner will take place at Willenhall Carnival on 14 June.
Entry forms are available from the Willenhall Ay We website.
