The Flag Institute Constitution was adopted at an EGM in Mayfair in 2013.

The Flag Institute is an adviser to the UK Parliamentary Flags & Heraldry Committee.
The Flag Institute is an active member of the international vexillological organization, FIAV (Fédération internationale des associations vexillologiques).
