Leicestershire – the last historic English county without a community flag – has launched a design competition through BBC Radio Leicester, and the Flag Institute looks forward to the county taking its rightful place in the UK Flag Registry. Finally an update on a number of Hebridean competitions. The Benbecula competition is currently on hold until the local Down-Select Panel can be reconvened. Eriskay and North Uist are close to registration with the Lyon Court; both communities are planning unveiling events and will announce details in due course. The Skye Down-Select Panel met on 31 January to shortlist six finalists from a field of 369 designs, with a public vote to take place in the next couple of months.
