A simple update of the one we use now would be suffice, its recognised and established albeit the council flag, a simple update. The finalists are quite poor , the sancturay knocker one is awful and the one with black diamonds on representing lumps of coal is rubbish.
Having read the history of the previous flag im pleased a new one was chosen. I like the new one. Good choice.
Really like the winner for its simplicity yet rich symbolism on various levels. Practical to reproduce in a variety of media.
Happy, as a Co Durham native to display it above my office desk in Australia.
